This collection of essays, theoretical papers and research works reflects psychology’s application to various facets of life in Nigeria in particular and Africa in general. Topics range from the psychology of non-Western thought processes; attitudes of the young towards the old; drug abuse among young people; workplace performance; care for the elderly to the influence of globalization on young people; public/community safety, governance and corruption.

Not being a traditional discipline like law and medicine, this book also provides an interesting time line of psychology’s ontogenesis in Nigeria and how far the discipline has come along, with notations of the number of higher institutions that now offer psychology at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

FRANK EYETSEMITAN is a Professor of Psychology at Roger Williams University USA; where he previously held the position of Associate Dean for the division of Social Sciences, 2006-2014.

SULAIMAN O. ADEBAYO is a Professor of Psychology in Ekiti State University. He is currently the Head of the Department of Psychology.
