ANCESTRALLOGIC AND CARIBBEANBLUES, by Kofi Anyidoho (HARDCOVER)
Product Description
AncestralLogic and CaribbeanBlues opens with IntroBlues, a short and provocative essay in which the poet himself defines for us the peculiar achievement of his collection: a lyrical definition of "the forever journey into SoulTime." Several of the poems locate African peoples in the context of world history, assess their past and current condition of struggle, and explore their prospects for survival in an increasingly precarious world. There is much to celebrate here, but there is much more to reflect upon, and beyond reflection, to move into action about. And the poet makes sure he challenges you with the impact of his verse offered as a network of unforgettable historical and contemporary images, always captured with a rhythmic intensity you cannot easily break away from.
