LEARNER'S GUIDE TO POSTGRADUATE LEVEL RESEARCH AND DATA ANALYSES, by Zeleke Worku and Mammo Muchie
Product Description
The book presents practical examples and lessons to learners on commonly used quantitative and qualitative methods of data collection and analyses for postgraduate level research. All relevant steps have been simplified and supplemented with numerical examples. Results of data analyses have been interpreted clearly. The book covers topics such as conducting literature review and scientific writing, study designs, how to write-up postgraduate level research proposals and dissertations, how to calculate sample sizes and power for quantitative studies, how to summarize raw and grouped data sets using quantitative and graphical methods, one and two-sample tests on means and proportions, the Pearson chi-square test of association (cross-tab analyses), simple and multiple linear regression and correlation analysis, binary and multinomial logistic regression analysis, and qualitative methods of data collection and analyses. The book demonstrates how quality research matters and is very ideal for learners who wish to build capacity for data analyses and the interpretation of results of data analyses. It is suitable for postgraduate level students, researchers and supervisors who wish to use a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods of data analyses as part of their research journey.
**************
I wish to commend the authors for the remarkable work they have done by producing a valuable guide that could be used by postgraduate level students, supervisors, novice researchers and mentors alike. I am confident that future editions of the book will be of even more value and contribution to the field of postgraduate level research.
