Product Description

This book provides a broader platform for studying relations between African States and China by moving away from the Panda Huggers and the Fear Factor dichotomy. It attempts to tease out the good that is manifest in these relations and to establish possibilities on how to correct perceived asymmetries between Africa and China.

The book is not limited to discussions on Africa-China relations. It goes a step further by analyzing the role of partnerships with Euro-American States in the face of a developing China. Such an exercise allows the reader to draw parallels between old and new economic powers, and the impact these powers have on the development of African economies. The multidisciplinary nature of this book makes it relevant to a wider readership as it approaches the subject of “Afro-Chinese” relations from a variety of accessible perspectives.
