Let's Learn Twi - Ma Yensua Twi is a text that has been successfully used to teach both intensive and non-intensive Twi. The trend in modern language pedagogy is to incorporate the culture of the target language into the instruction. Let's Learn Twi - Ma Yensua Twi seamlessly weaves Akan culture into the language materials. Since the book is intended to be used primarily by the layperson, explanations and descriptions are non-technical. However, the linguist wishing to learn about the structure of Twi, will benefit greatly from the text's systematic outline of the language. All Twi passages in this book are authentic native speaker generated. A famous Ghanaian artist provided the relevant subject matter related sketches that illustrate the book.
The majority of the lessons in Let's Learn Twi - Ma Yensua Twi are built around "conversations" which introduce practical and interesting topics, and aspects of Twi grammar. Such lessons also contain "comprehension passages," which spin off from conversation passages. Each comprehension passage is accompanied by questions. In addition, each lesson provides a variety of useful exercises.
Users of this book will acquire speaking, listening, reading, and writing proficiency in Twi.
