CONFRONTING THE AIDS EPIDEMIC: Cross-Cultural Perspectives on HIV/AIDS Education, Edited by Davidson C. Umeh
Product Description
"Cultures as varied as Nigerian, Kenyan and Native American are brought to life in this collection of original essays showing how universal themes, such as power inequities between the sexes, serve to bridge the gap between the past and the present, as well as between these diverse cultures around the world, revealing a common thread across humanity. Dr. Umeh's collection of essays contributes much to our understanding of AIDS. The reader is immediately struck by the diversity of human responses to this complex and baffling disease but, on closer scrutiny, one is struck by how similarly we react to the threat... no matter where we live" -Professor Edward J. Hart
"Confronting the AIDS Epidemic is for you whether you are a heterosexual, bisexual or homosexual male or female. This book is for you if you are a business leader, an elected official, a community leader, a teacher or a sociologist. This book is for you if you wish to influence the course of human history" -Uchenna C. Nwosu, M.D.
