ABOUT THE AUTHORS
CHARLES C. SOLUDO is Chief Economic Advisor to the President of Nigeria, Chief Executive of the National Planning Commission, and the Professor of Economics at the University of Nigeria. He is former Executive Director of the African Institute for Applied Economics. For nearly two decades, Prof. Soludo has been a visiting scholar and consultant to many international organizations, and has published extensively on African economic development.

OSITA OGBU is Executive Director of the ATPS Network, an independent African institution charged with the promotion of innovative science and technology policy in Africa. Previously, he spent 10 years working for the International Development Research Centre, where he was responsible for managing and initiating a number of Africa-wide research networks. Dr. Ogbu has authored many papers and books in development economics and science and technology policy in Africa.

HA-JOON CHANG is Professor in the Faculty of Economics and Politics at the University of Cambridge and a member of the editorial board of the "Cambridge Journal of Economics." He has worked as a consultant for numerous international organizations and national governments on development and economic policies. His 2002 book, "Kicking Away the Ladder Development Strategy in Historical Perspective," was awarded the 2003 Myrdal Prize by the European Association for Evolutionary Political Economy in memory of the Swedish Nobel Laureate, Gunnar Myrdal.
